The 1794-OE8H analog module from AB is a FLEX I/O HART module. The 1794-OE8H I/O module is specifically an output module for industrial machines. It has 8 analog outputs that are not isolated. The default current range for these outputs is a range of 0 to 20 milliamps but the current range can be set to 4 to 20 milliamps if the connections or applications require it. The 1794-OE8H I/O module has local microprocessor intelligence, lead breakage detection, several data ranges, alarms for remote transmitters and overrange and underrange situations, and it is capable of full functioning without the use of jumpers or switches. This module can be mounted on a terminal base unit with a keyswitch that can be rotated until the module locks into place on the terminal base. Once the terminal base unit has been wired, the position of the keyswitch should not be changed again.
The AB 1794-OE8H FLEX I/O HART module can control an analog field device. It has channels that are electrically connected. The module's status indicators show the users whether the module is powered on or off and whether the I/O are being used or not. If there are any problems with the 1794-OE8H I/O module, it cannot be repaired in the field and it must be replaced or sent back to the factory for repair by the manufacturer. The 1794-OE8H module can use the ControlNet network and the RSLogix 5000 software. Its ambient temperature rating is 25 degrees Celsius, plus or minus 5 degrees.
